For over 12 years a counter-revolutionary force in Professional Wrestling
"Inside The Squared Circle" was born in June 1989 as a radio program on WMET-AM with Will Dunham, Fred Sternburg and Dirty Dick Daniel as co-hosts. The show steadily built an audience despite being the bane of station management, who could not understand why the program's hosts would refer to listeners as "humanoids." WhenSternburg and Daniel both left the program for other media opportunities, Charmin' Chuckie Williams and Dr. C the PhD filled their soiled shoes. Following a change in station management that unfolded following a nasty legal fight, WMET cancelled ITSC for the third and last time in October of 1992.
No Budget Productions was founded by Dunham, Dr. C and Williams in November 1993 as a vehicle for a television version of the radio show and a pilot was shot on Oct. 31, 1992. No Budget Productions then forged an agreement with Jim Cornette of Smoky Mountain Wrestling to bring SMW to Washington area viewers. Despite the suspect production values on the pilot (and every show since), the TV version was picked up on Montgomery County, Md., public access in February 1993 and expanded into Washington, D.C, in May 1993. Ms. Victoria Hawley-Smoot was brought into No Budget Productions in June 1994 and replaced Dr. C the PhD, who subsequently took a job as an endowed professor of economics at a North Carolina University. When Williams took a behind-the-scenes janitorial position with ITSC, Daniel returned to the air for a memorable six-month stint in 1995. Massive Mike was hired in August 1995 on a trial basis and became a full-time co-host and fitness trainer in October 1995.
In November of 1995, Smokey Mountain Wrestling ceased operations and ITSC was left without an affiliated wrestling program. After long negotiations, a new relationship was formed and, on May 25th, 1996, we aired our first episode of USWA Professional Wrestling (their 1000th show) into the homes of eager ITSC fans.
